1800 Respect is a national sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling service in Australia. It is a free and confidential service that provides information, counselling and support to people affected by sexual assault, domestic or family violence.
The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be accessed by phone, online chat or email. 1800 Respect also provides information and support to family members, friends and frontline workers who are concerned about someone they know who is experiencing sexual assault or domestic and family violence.
1800 Respect is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services and is operated by Medibank Health Solutions. The service is staffed by professional counsellors who are trained to provide information, support and referral to local services for people affected by sexual assault or domestic and family violence.
